Both Oaklands Surgery and Ryalls Park Medical Centre are part of the Symphony Healthcare Services (Symphony) group and have already been working closely together to provide greater support and resilience to the workforce across both practices.
Due to the upcoming renewal of the Yeovil Health Centre lease, work to relocate the branch site has continued over the last few years. This has included an application to extend Ryalls Park Medical Centre which will be a positive outcome to ensure ample space for our team to be able to care for our community.
In addition, a joint nursing team is already in place, working across the practice sites and the next step to ensure aligned team working is to formally join together as one team and work from one shared medical record system. Allowing patients to access services across all sites.
Due to this, the surgeries are now proposing to merge to become one contract, over two sites: Oaklands Surgery & Ryalls Park Medical Centre.
UPDATE: Following public feedback received to date, a merger application has been submitted and recommended for approval by the NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board’s Primary Care Operational. The application will now be reviewed by the NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board’s Primary Care Commissioning Committee for final sign off.
